Marya Krogstad (b. Seoul, S. Korea) is a Northern California based artist working in installation, sculpture, film, video/audio. Krogstad was an Artist in Residence at the Lucid Art Foundation, 2016; an Artist in Residence at Kala Art Institute, 2014; an Affiliate Artist at the Headlands Center for the Arts from 2011- 2014; nominee for the SECA Award, 2012; and received her M.F.A. from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2009. Her studio is located in San Francisco and she has exhibited in the Bay area, nationally/internationally.
For one cannot even really see one's own exterior and comprehend it as a whole, and no mirrors or photographs can help; our real exterior can be seen and understood only by other people, because they are located outside us in space and because they are others.
